Robert Lautt, CEO, CTO, Founder, Chairman

Robert Lautt has 18 years experience in the analytic applications industry, managing engineering and driving partnerships with Microsoft, IBM, and Hyperion. As an early adopter of PC spreadsheet and database technology, Mr. Lautt was commissioned by Adam Osborne, then President of Paperback Software, to package the first spreadsheet-based corporate budgeting product for mass distribution. Over a 15 year period, Mr. Lautt has led A3 Solutions on a successful organic growth path through three major product lifecycles, and now, with the introduction of A3 Modeling based on innovative Spreadsheet Automation Server technology, Mr. Lautt and the company embark on their fourth major release. Mr. Lautt has a BSE in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University.

Stuart Ratner, COO & VP Sales, Founder, Board Member

Stuart Ratner has managed sales and channel relationships for A3 since the company’s inception in 1991, delivering Corporate Performance Management solutions to more than 100 of the Fortune 1000. Mr. Ratner supervised the deployment of A3 products into Toyota Motor Sales, American Airlines, Safeway and Cox Communications. Mr. Ratner attended the University of California, Berkeley where he pursued mathematics and business.

Jim Gagnard, Board Member

Jim Gagnard is the CEO of Smart Signal Corporation, a venture-backed technology company. Mr. Gagnard has 25 years of experience leading both large and small technology companies. Prior to Smart Signal, Mr. Gagnard lead the growth and exit of a number of enterprise software firms including Questra, Launchpoint, Diffusion, Vignette, and Trinzic Corporation. Mr. Gagnard also held senior positions with Control Data and IBM. Mr. Gagnard received an MBA from San Francisco State University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Michael Abbott, Advisor

Michael Abbott is a widely published and highly respected Silicon Valley entrepreneur and technologist. Most recently, Mr. Abbott founded Composite Software and has raised $17.25 million in financing for it. Prior to Composite, Mr. Abbott was CTO and EVP of Electron Economy, a supply chain software company named to Upside’s list of the Top 100 Companies. Mr. Abbott has been Director of Java Solutions for USWeb/CKS, leading the design and implementation of multimillion-dollar engagements. Mr. Abbott completed Ph.D. research at the University of Washington.

Eric Lan, Advisor

Eric Lan is a seasoned technology executive with a record of delivering innovative, world-class enterprise software to both small and large enterprises. Mr. Lan has managed teams in excess of 100 employees, and has successfully executed large-scale outsourcing strategies. Mr. Lan has held positions as SVP at Epiphany, SVP Engineering with eConvergent, VP of Engineering at Remedy. As VP of Engineering with Arbor Software, he took the engineering team and product from start-up through the company’s IPO. Mr. Lan holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Indiana University, and a B.S. Computer Science from Tamkang University, Taiwan.
